Your Role
Key responsibilities in your new role
Taking on the role of a Photonic Development Engineer, you'll join a passionate, international team dedicated to making quantum computing a reality. As such, you will be driving the development of cutting-edge photonics chips and advancing their integration into quantum processing units and more. More concretely, you will:
- Drive technology development of photonics for example enabling the scaling towards very large ion trap chips
- Design, fabricate and characterize photonic circuit chips for a wide range of applications
- Author technical reports and publications in close collaborations with internal and external partners
- Supervise Master and PhD students
Qualifications And Skills To Help You Succeed
- University degree in physics, quantum engineering, electrical engineering (PhD preferred)
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience in photonics, quantum optics and/or ion trapping
- High level of motivation, striving for photonics and quantum computing to become a reality
- Fluency in English, German skills or the willingness to learn it is a plus
