Your Role

Key responsibilities in your new role

Taking on the role of a Photonic Development Engineer, you'll join a passionate, international team dedicated to making quantum computing a reality. As such, you will be driving the development of cutting-edge photonics chips and advancing their integration into quantum processing units and more. More concretely, you will:

• Drive technology development of photonics for example enabling the scaling towards very large ion trap chips
• Design, fabricate and characterize photonic circuit chips for a wide range of applications
• Author technical reports and publications in close collaborations with internal and external partners
• Supervise Master and PhD students
  
  

Your Profile

Qualifications And Skills To Help You Succeed

• University degree in physics, quantum engineering, electrical engineering (PhD preferred)
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience in photonics, quantum optics and/or ion trapping
• High level of motivation, striving for photonics and quantum computing to become a reality
• Fluency in English, German skills or the willingness to learn it is a plus
  
  

We offer competitive salaries and additional benefits based on your performance, experience and qualification. The employment is in accordance with the collective salary and wage agreement for employees of the electrical and electronics industry, employment group G (https://www.feei.at/aktuelles/mindestloehne-und-gehaelter-eei/). The monthly salary is paid 14 times p.a. We offer a higher compensation depending on your expertise and skills.
