As a Senior Solution Advisor for SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP), you act as a trusted advisor for value, process, and solution design related to enterprise planning and decision support within the sales organization.
You support the entire customer value journey, from early discovery and value hypothesis creation through solution positioning, deal support, and customer adoption — with a strong focus on measurable business outcomes enabled by SAP IBP.

As a Senior Solution Advisor for SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP), you act as a trusted advisor for value, process, and solution design related to enterprise planning and decision support within the sales organization.
You support the entire customer value journey, from early discovery and value hypothesis creation through solution positioning, deal support, and customer adoption — with a strong focus on measurable business outcomes enabled by SAP IBP.
Key Responsibilities
Business Value & Customer Outcomes
- Translate customer planning challenges into quantifiable business value (e.g. inventory reduction, service-level improvement, forecast accuracy, planning efficiency).
- Position SAP IBP as a business-critical Advanced Planning System (APS) supporting resilient and agile supply chains.
- Support value-based selling by developing value hypotheses, KPIs, and ROI narratives.
- Advise customers across core SAP IBP capabilities:
- Demand Planning & Statistical Forecasting
- AI-/ML-driven demand sensing and predictive forecasting
- Supply Planning & Response (constraint-based planning)
- Inventory Optimization
- Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) / Integrated Business Planning
- Scenario planning and what-if simulations
- Explain technical concepts in a business-relevant context, bridging business and IT stakeholders.
- Position AI-enabled planning capabilities within SAP IBP
- Demonstrate how analytics and automation improve decision quality and planning speed.
- Deliver standard and tailored demos highlighting SAP IBP’s value, scalability, and real-time planning capabilities.
- Design demo scenarios aligned to customer industries, maturity levels, and planning priorities.
- Support strategic opportunities with storyboards, demos, and dry runs.
- Collaborate closely with SAP Account Teams to:
- Identify and qualify planning opportunities
- Shape solution strategies and roadmaps
- Support deal execution and customer engagement
- Contribute to account planning by assessing planning maturity, complexity, and value potential.
- Ensure a smooth transition from presales to delivery by aligning expectations with SAP Services and implementation partners.
- Support customer adoption and expansion by reinforcing SAP IBP value throughout the lifecycle.
Professional & Presales Experience
- Several years of experience in presales, solution advisory, or consulting for enterprise planning or supply chain solutions.
- Strong understanding of value-based selling and customer decision processes.
- Solid hands-on and conceptual knowledge of SAP Integrated Business Planning or a comparable APS software solution.
- Experience with Advanced Planning Systems (APS) concepts, including:
- Forecasting models and demand planning logic
- Constraint-based supply and capacity planning
- Inventory optimization strategies
- S&OP / IBP governance models
- Good understanding of SAP cloud and SaaS architectures, including integration with SAP S/4HANA.
- Ability to explain planning data flows, planning cycles, and system interactions at a high technical level.
- Understanding of AI-, ML-, and analytics-driven planning concepts and their business impact.
- Ability to position automation and decision support as value drivers.
- Strong storytelling skills to communicate complex planning topics to executive, business, and IT audiences.
- Customer-centric mindset with the ability to quickly understand business goals and pain points.
- Full professional proficiency in German and Business English.
- High energy and confidence in customer-facing engagements, workshops, and presentations.
- You will be part of the SAP Solution Advisory team for Supply Chain Management supporting Austria, Switzerland, and Central & Eastern Europe (CEE). The team works closely with all regional sales units, providing deep expertise across SAP’s Supply Chain Management and Planning portfolio along the Design-to-Operate value chain.
- With our competences and our know-how in SAP’s Supply Chain Management solutions, we explore problems and challenges of our customers and provide the best possible solution capabilities. In this phase, as Solution Advisory we take over planning and coordination of activities with which we convince the customer of our solution focusing always on the added value for our customers to be able address customer’s business and IT units even more efficiently.
- Customer Advocate: Collaborate to complement solution expertise and support customers in their business transformation.
- Implementation Partner/Customer Services & Delivery: Efficiently transition customer engagement for successful deployment and realization of solution value.
- SAP Account Teams: Share best practices and collaborate on providing solutions and services support across the entire customer journey.
