Description
As part of a best-in-class System Engineering team, you will drive innovation in Cellular Receiver architectures. You will work at the boundary of the analog/RF domain and digital baseband, collaborating closely with chip architects, digital/analog design teams, and firmware engineers.
Responsibilities
- Define and specify DSP block requirements for the Cellular Receiver, translating system-level performance goals into concrete design targets.
- Develop and maintain bit-accurate floating-point and fixed-point models of the receiver chain using Matlab, C++, and SystemC to guide design decisions and verify performance.
- Design, simulate, and validate novel DSP Algorithms, including advanced multi rate digital Filter structures, for optimal Receiver performance, power, and area.
- Collaborate with RF/analog design teams to understand and mitigate analog impairments, and work with digital design (RTL) and firmware teams to ensure flawless implementation of your algorithm designs.
- Contribute to the entire product lifecycle, from initial architectural concept and algorithm definition until through to silicon validation and mass production.
- System Engineering experience with a deep background in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) for wireless communication systems.
- Proven track record in designing and implementing DSP Algorithms, with specific expertise in multi rate digital filter design (e.g. interpolators, decimators, polyphase filters).
- Expert-level proficiency in Matlab for algorithm development and system modeling, paired with extensive hands-on programming experience in C++.
- Experience in creating bit-accurate, fixed-point models and collaborating with hardware teams on implementation trade-offs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate sophisticated technical concepts effectively to diverse, multi-functional global teams.
- Experience applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Machine Learning (ML) to enhance traditional DSP algorithms for tasks like adaptive filtering, channel estimation, or interference cancellation, with a focus on improving performance and efficiency.
- Expertise in designing DSP algorithms to compensate for RF and analog impairments (e.g., IQ imbalance, DC offset, phase noise).
- Strong understanding of cellular physical layer principles for LTE and 5G New Radio.
- Familiarity with hardware modeling languages like SystemC.
- Knowledge of parallel processing architectures for high-throughput, low-power DSP.
- Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and data analysis.
- Experience with the conceptualization and design of high-speed digital or mixed-signal circuits.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with meaningful experience or Ph.D. in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- The minimum salary pursuant to the applicable collective bargaining agreement amounts to €66,676 gross per year for full time employment. Actual salaries are oriented at current market salaries and take your qualifications and experience into account.
